Πώς συνδέονται το περιβάλλον, η ανθρώπινη υγεία και η αειφορία;
Ως Life Coach & Flower Essence Practitioner,

English Version Below
How are health, environment, and sustainability connected?
The answer lies in how we perceive “care” — not merely as a medical act, but as a holistic relationship between the human being and the living ecosystem that sustains them.
With this vision in mind, I recently participated in the online workshop “Unlocking Values: Healthcare & the Environment”, organized within the MEDViEW EU project, under the umbrella of EUROCAM — the European network that unites organizations of Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM), promoting the integration of evidence-based natural therapies into European healthcare systems.
The workshop brought together health professionals, researchers, and policymakers to explore how healthcare systems can reduce their environmental footprint while remaining safe, effective, and equitable.
The Connection Between Health and the Environment
The environment we live in profoundly affects our health — from air and water quality to the psychological effects of stress and the loss of connection with nature.
At the same time, the healthcare sector itself contributes to environmental degradation through energy use, waste generation, and pollution.
The aim of the workshop was to explore this two-way relationship and highlight shared values such as sustainability, responsibility, justice, and collaboration, paving the way for healthcare systems that support both people and the planet.
Natural and Complementary Therapies as Part of the Solution
As a Life Coach & Flower Essence Practitioner, I had the opportunity to propose that natural and complementary therapies, such as Flower Essence Therapy, be officially integrated into the Greek public healthcare system.
Flower Essence Therapy is:
– 100% natural and non-toxic,
– gentle yet effective,
– free from side effects or environmental burden,
– and help restores inner balance, resilience, and wellbeing.
Flower Essence Therapy does not simply address symptoms — it views the person as a whole: body, mind, and soul, supporting natural harmony.
From production to application, flower remedies follow principles of ecological respect and sustainability, maintaining a near-zero carbon footprint.
The Global Perspective
Across the world — in Brazil, India, China, Australia, and Peru — Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM) has already been integrated into national healthcare systems.
In parts of Europe and the United States, Flower Essence Therapy and related approaches are practiced within regulated frameworks, showing encouraging results in prevention, stress management, and emotional health.
While Greece still has a way to go, recent years show steady progress, with growing research, practitioner education, and public awareness of holistic and person-centered health.
A New Model of Care
Transitioning toward sustainable healthcare is not only a technical or economic challenge — it’s a shift in consciousness.
We need a system that recognizes human beings as part of nature, not separate from it.
Flower Essence Therapy can play a meaningful role in this transition — a gentle, affordable, and environmentally responsible approach that strengthens prevention, balance, and emotional harmony.
🌿 True sustainability begins within — when we reconnect with ourselves, with others, and with nature.
